Christine Haiku
Anyone who has been to a music event in Second Life New England, has surely been warmly greeted by the Theatre Manager, Christine Haiku. Poised and friendly, Christine has brought new energy and excitement to entertainment in SLNE. She has sought out an array of exciting new performers who have struck a chord with our community. Haiku is a constant presence. One of her friends commented, "It's been a pleasure to see Christine develop into the professional and highly skilled individual she is today."

Nicolo Anthony

Nicolo Anthony has been a great influence in establishing SLNE as a well-known art community in Second Life. As curator of Folk Art New England (FANE) in Mystic and a popular lecturer on a variety of topics, Anthony has digitized artifacts from the RL Fenimore Art Museum and brought them into Second Life to FANE. He is also instrumental in selecting artists to exhibit their works in Nantucket Village Square. And ot only is Anthony personable and professional, he's a lot of fun.

He talked to me recently about his SL experience.

Getting to Know You: Mister Wind PDF Print E-mail

For a long time, Mister Wind was an enigma to me. I had heard that he was on the Building Review Committee and married to Mindy Princess in both Second Life and real life. During the summer, it seems he was often out sailing the real life waters of New England and wasn't in Second Life much. The first time I met Mister Wind was at an art gala in Nantucket Square. At that event, he never rezzed in for me, but remained a 'cloud,' adding to the mystery surrounding him. I finally had the opportunity to meet (yes .. .this time I could actually see him) and converse with Mister Wind at the Gold Mermaid's one-year anniversary party in September.

How long have you been in Second Life?
Two years, since October 2006.

How did you learn about Second Life?
Mindy and I heard about Second Life from our son.

Do you have a worst newbie experience you would like to share?

Lizzo DreamscapeWhen you come to the Second Life New England village, one of the first people you are likely to meet is Lizzo Dreamscape. One of our two village managers (the other is Becca Horsforth), Lizzo is an upbeat, positive and constant presence. I first met Lizzo when I was new to the SLNE estate. I was wandering around the Nantucket Barn, taking in the sights, when Lizzo came along and invited me to join the New England News group. From the start, I was impressed with her knowledge of SLNE and her obvious enthusiasm for the community. When I recently opened my store in Nantucket, again Lizzo was there to answer questions and get me started. I recently had an opportunity to interview Lizzo.

Getting to Know You: Mindy Princess PDF Print E-mail

Every once in a while, you come upon a person that is so dynamic and interesting you feel you could talk to them for a long time. So it is with Mindy Princess. I first met Mindy last summer at one of the art openings in Nantucket. Everyone was gathered around to hear the latest Mindy story about her pending trip to Egypt. Later, after the crowd began to diminish, several of the mermaids, including Mindy, decided they were beginning to dry out and that it was time for a swim. So off they went...jumping into the cool waters of SLNE and swimming off, leaving me, a mere human avatar at the time, longing to join them. (The next day I went to Mindy's Nantucket Mermaid shop and joined the ranks of the mermaids!)  I recently had the opportunity to talk to Mindy about her experiences in Second Life.
